PREVNAR 20 is a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine indicated for active immunization to prevent invasive disease caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes 1, 3, 4, 5, 6A, 6B, 7F, 8, 9V, 10A, 11A, 12F, 14, 15B, 18C, 19A, 19F, 22F, 23F, and 33F in adults 18 years of age and older.

Active Ingredient & Action
PREVNAR 20 contains a combination of pneumococcal polysaccharides from the listed serotypes, conjugated to CRM-197 protein from Corynebacterium diphtheriae. The vaccine works by stimulating the body's immune system to produce antibodies against the listed serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae, providing protection against invasive disease caused by these serotypes.
Important Notes
PREVNAR 20 should be administered according to the recommended dosing schedule. The vaccine may not protect against all serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae. Individuals with a history of severe allergic reaction to any component of the vaccine should not receive PREVNAR 20. The most common side effects of the vaccine include pain, redness, and swelling at the injection site, fatigue, headache, and muscle pain.
