About RIZAMIGREN

RIZAMIGREN contains rizatriptan, a substance for the acute treatment of headaches during migraine attacks.

Composition

Active substance: rizatriptan benzoate in terms of rizatriptan. One tablet contains 5 mg or 10 mg of rizatriptan. Excipients: lactose monohydrate, pregelatinized starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate.

Indications

The product is used for the acute treatment of headaches during migraine attacks with or without aura.

Pharmacological properties

Rizatriptan selectively and with high affinity binds to 5-HT1B and 5-HT1D receptors. At the same time, it has little or no pharmacological effect on a number of other receptors, including 5-HT2, 5-HT3, adrenergic, dopamine, histamine, muscarinic, and benzodiazepine receptors.

The therapeutic effect may be associated with the activation of 5-HT1B and 5-HT1D receptors located on intracranial blood vessels and the trigeminal nerve. This can cause constriction of intracranial blood vessels associated with pain and inhibit the release of neuropeptides, reducing inflammation in sensitive tissues.
