СУЛЬЦЕФ is a combination of sodium sulbactam and sodium cefoperazone for parenteral use.

Composition

The preparation contains sulbactam - 1 g and cefoperazone - 1 g.

Indications

The preparation is used to treat infections caused by susceptible strains of microorganisms: infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract, upper and lower urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, bones and joints.

СУЛЬЦЕФ is also indicated for peritonitis, cholecystitis, cholangitis, and other infections of the abdominal cavity, septicemia, meningitis, as well as for inflammatory diseases of the pelvic organs, endometritis, gonorrhea, and other infections of the genital organs.

Pharmacological properties

Sodium sulbactam is a derivative of the basic penicillin nucleus and an irreversible beta-lactamase inhibitor. It is used only parenterally. 1 g of sulbactam contains 92 mg of sodium, which corresponds to 4 mEq.

Sodium cefoperazone is a semi-synthetic third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with a broad spectrum of action, which is also used only parenterally. 1 g of cefoperazone contains 34 mg of sodium, which corresponds to 1.5 mEq.

The antibacterial component of the sulbactam and cefoperazone combination is cefoperazone.
