About СТРЕПТОЦИД РОЗЧИННИЙ

СТРЕПТОЦИД РОЗЧИННИЙ contains streptocide, or sulfanilamide, which has a bacteriostatic effect on sensitive microorganisms.

Composition

Active ingredient: sulfanilamide. One tablet contains 300 mg of streptocide (sulfanilamide). Excipients: potato starch and talc.

Indications

The preparation is used for infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to it: skin and mucous membrane infections, including wounds, ulcers, and bedsores, as well as enterocolitis, pyelitis, and cystitis.

Pharmacological properties

Streptocide disrupts the formation of folic and dihydrofolic acid and other compounds containing para-aminobenzoic acid in microorganisms. Due to its structural similarity, sulfanilamide is included in the metabolic processes of microorganisms and disrupts metabolism, resulting in a bacteriostatic effect.

The preparation acts on streptococci, meningococci, pneumococci, gonococci, intestinal bacillus, as well as the causative agents of toxoplasmosis and malaria. Streptocide has no effect on anaerobic microorganisms. When taken orally, it is quickly absorbed: the maximum concentration in the blood is determined after 1-2 hours, and in the cerebrospinal fluid, the preparation is detected within 4 hours.
