ФАЗЛОДЕКС is a medicinal product containing fulvestrant as the active ingredient. The drug belongs to the group of anti-estrogenic agents and is used in the treatment of oncological diseases of the breast.

Composition

Each milliliter of the preparation contains 50 mg of fulvestrant.

Indications

ФАЗЛОДЕКС is prescribed as monotherapy for the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer in estrogen receptor-positive women postmenopause. This applies to patients who have not undergone hormonal therapy before or whose disease progressed during or after anti-estrogen therapy.

Also, the drug is used in combination with palbociclib for the treatment of HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer in women who have already received endocrine therapy. In women in premenopause or perimenopause, such combined therapy must be supplemented with an LHRH agonist.

Pharmacological Properties

Fulvestrant acts as a competitive antagonist of estrogen receptors, blocking the trophic action of estrogens without estrogen-like activity. The mechanism of action is based on negative regulation of estrogen receptor protein levels, which is confirmed by clinical studies. It has been shown that a dose of 500 mg provides more pronounced receptor suppression compared to a dose of 250 mg.
