About ЦЕФТРАКТАМ

ЦЕФТРАКТАМ is a combined antibacterial drug used for the treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases. Its action is aimed at combating microorganisms sensitive to the components of the agent.

Composition

Each dose of the drug contains 1000 mg of ceftriaxone and 500 mg of sulbactam.

Indications

The drug is prescribed for infections of the lower respiratory tract, bacterial otitis, and lesions of the skin and soft tissues. It is also effective for diseases of the kidneys, urinary tract, bones and joints, abdominal organs, as well as for septicemia, bacterial meningitis, and gonorrhea. In addition, ЦЕФТРАКТАМ is used for the prevention of infectious complications during surgical operations.

During therapy, it is important to follow official guidelines regarding the use of antibiotics and the prevention of the development of antibiotic resistance.

Pharmacological properties

ЦЕФТРАКТАМ combines the action of ceftriaxone, a third-generation cephalosporin that inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell membranes, and sulbactam. Sulbactam acts as an inhibitor of beta-lactamases produced by resistant microorganisms and synergistically enhances the action of ceftriaxone.

The drug exhibits activity against a wide spectrum of gram-positive aerobes, including strains that produce beta-lactamases. Due to the combination of components, some sensitive strains demonstrate higher susceptibility to the combination than to antibiotic monotherapy.
