IMIPENEM AND CILASTATIN FOR INJECTION USP is a sterile, lyophilized powder for reconstitution containing imipenem and cilastatin for injection. It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic combination used to treat various bacterial infections.

- Treatment of complicated urinary tract infections (cUTIs) caused by susceptible strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter cloacae, Serratia marcescens, and other susceptible bacteria.

Active Ingredient & Action
IMIPENEM, a carbapenem antibiotic, works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. CILASTATIN (CILASTATIN SODIUM), a dehydropeptidase inhibitor, protects imipenem from degradation by bacterial dehydropeptidase I, thereby enhancing its antibacterial activity.
