- Treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, including pneumonia, septicemia, and infections of the skin and soft tissues.

Active Ingredient & Action
COLISTIN (COLISTIMETHATE SODIUM) works by binding to the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) component of the bacterial cell wall, disrupting the bacterial membrane and ultimately leading to bacterial cell death. This mechanism of action makes COLISTIN effective against a wide range of Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter species.
