About ФЕНІМАКС

ФЕНІМАКС is a medicinal product containing dimetindene maleate as the active ingredient. The preparation is used to alleviate symptoms of allergic reactions and to relieve cough of various origins.

Composition

Each milliliter of the preparation contains 1 mg of dimetindene maleate. Auxiliary components include sodium dihydrogen phosphate decahydrate, citric acid monohydrate, benzoic acid (E 210), disodium edetate, sodium saccharin, propylene glycol, and purified water.

Indications

ФЕНІМАКС is prescribed for symptomatic treatment of urticaria, seasonal (hay fever) and perennial allergic rhinitis, as well as allergies to food products or medicinal products. The product is effective for cough of various origins (except those associated with cholestasis), for example, in cases of chickenpox and insect bites. The drug is also used as an auxiliary agent in eczema and other allergic dermatoses.

Pharmacological Properties

Dimetindene maleate acts as an antagonist of histamine at the H1 receptor level, showing high affinity for them and stabilizing mast cells. The preparation also exhibits antagonist properties against bradykinin, serotonin, and acetylcholine, has a local anesthetic effect, and significantly reduces capillary permeability during hypersensitivity reactions. At low concentrations, the product stimulates histamine methyltransferase, which promotes the inactivation of histamine, but does not affect H2 receptors.
