About SPIKEVAX

SPIKEVAX is a messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine designed to protect against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. It is a two-dose vaccine, administered intramuscularly, with a 3-week interval between doses.

Active Ingredient & Action

The active ingredient in SPIKEVAX is *SARSCOV2 S-PROTEIN MRNA, 5'(M7G-5'-PPP-5'-GM), 3'POLYA, which encodes for the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. Upon administration, the mRNA is taken up by host cells, where it is translated into the spike protein. The immune system recognizes the spike protein as foreign and mounts an immune response, providing protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Before receiving SPIKEVAX, inform your healthcare provider of any history of allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis. Also, inform your healthcare provider of any current or past medical conditions, including immunocompromised status. SPIKEVAX has not been studied in pregnant women. The safety and efficacy of SPIKEVAX in individuals with a history of Guillain-Barré Syndrome are unknown. Consult your healthcare provider for more information.
