IXIFI
Active Ingredient: INFLIXIMAB
Product Overview
About IXIFI
Ixifi is a prescription medication containing the active ingredient Infliximab, a chimeric monoclonal antibody that selectively binds to tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha). It is used to treat various inflammatory conditions, including moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and plaque psoriasis.
Key Benefits & Uses
- Treatment of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults who have had an inadequate response to one or more disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs)
- Treatment of active ankylosing spondylitis in adults who have had an inadequate response to conventional therapy
- Treatment of adult patients with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy, and when other systemic therapies are medically appropriate
- Treatment of adult patients with active psoriatic arthritis who have had an inadequate response to other DMARDs
Active Ingredient & Action
Infliximab works by binding to TNF-alpha, a substance in the body that causes inflammation and is involved in autoimmune diseases. By binding to TNF-alpha, Infliximab prevents it from interacting with its receptors on cell surfaces, thereby reducing inflammation and slowing disease progression.
Important Notes
Ixifi should only be used under the guidance of a healthcare professional. Patients should be closely monitored for signs of infection, including tuberculosis, and for other potential side effects. It is essential to follow the recommended dosing schedule and to report any adverse reactions to the prescribing physician.
