Active Ingredient & Action
CASPOFUNGIN (CASPOFUNGIN ACETATE) is a triazole antifungal agent that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. By inhibiting the enzyme lanosterol 14α-demethylase, CASPOFUNGIN disrupts the fungal cell membrane's integrity, ultimately leading to cell death and the elimination of the fungal infection.
