About UNILAT

UNILAT is a medicinal device containing latanoprost as the active ingredient. The product belongs to the group of prostaglandin F2a analogs and is used in ophthalmic practice.

Composition

1 ml of the solution contains 50 mcg of latanoprost. The auxiliary components include sodium chloride, sodium dihydrogen phosphate monohydrate, anhydrous sodium hydrogen phosphate, benzalkonium chloride, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, and sterile water for injection.

Indications

The drug is prescribed for reducing elevated intraocular pressure in adult patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It is also used in pediatric practice to treat children with childhood glaucoma and elevated intraocular pressure.

Pharmacological Properties

Latanoprost is a selective FP receptor agonist that reduces intraocular pressure by enhancing the outflow of aqueous humor. The effect of the drug is observed within 3-4 hours after application, reaching a maximum within 8-12 hours, and is maintained at least throughout the day.

UNILAT demonstrates efficacy both as monotherapy and in combination therapy schemes. Clinical studies confirm the possibility of combining the drug with beta-adrenergic blockers (timolol), adrenergic agonists, and oral carbonic anhydrase inhibitors.
