About ТУЛІКСОН

ТУЛІКСОН is a combined antibacterial drug containing ceftazidime and sulbactam. The drug is intended for parenteral administration and effectively combats a wide range of bacterial infections.

Composition

One vial of the drug contains 1 g of ceftazidime (as the sodium salt) and 500 mg of sulbactam (as the sodium salt).

Indications

The drug is used for infections of the lower respiratory tract, acute bacterial otitis media, and also for skin and soft tissue infections. It is effective for infections of the kidneys, urinary tract, bones, and joints, as well as for sepsis and meningitis.

ТУЛІКСОН is also used to treat infections of the gastrointestinal tract, including peritonitis, biliary tract infections, and traumatic tract infections. The drug is used for the treatment of gonorrhea and to prevent infection complications during surgical interventions.

Pharmacological Properties

ТУЛІКСОН combines the action of ceftazidime — a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with a prolonged effect — and sulbactam. The bactericidal action of the drug is realized through the inhibition of bacterial cell membrane synthesis.

Ceftazidime demonstrates high resistance to the action of most beta-lactamases of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. It is active against many aerobic bacteria, including staphylococci (methicillin-susceptible), streptococci (including S. pneumoniae, S. pyogenes, S. agalactiae), and others. It should be noted that staphylococci resistant to methicillin are resistant to cephalosporins.
