About TIONEX

TIONEX is a medicinal product in the form of an injection solution containing the active substance thiocolchicoside. The preparation belongs to the group of muscle relaxants.

Composition

Each 2 ml ampoule contains 4.0 mg of thiocolchicoside. The auxiliary components of the solution are sodium chloride and water for injections.

Indications

The preparation is used as an auxiliary treatment for painful muscular contractures. It is indicated for adults and adolescents aged 16 years and older in cases of acute spinal pathologies.

Pharmacological properties

Thiocolchicoside is a semi-synthetic derivative of colchicoside, which exhibits a muscle-relaxant effect without the action of curarimimetic agents. Its mechanism of action is associated with a selective effect on GABA-ergic and glycinergic receptors, which helps with contractures of various origins: reflex, rheumatic, traumatic, or spastic. The preparation does not affect the cardiovascular system, respiratory muscles, or voluntary movements.

Following intramuscular administration, the maximum concentration of the active substance in blood plasma is reached within 30 minutes.
