About ТЕРБІНОРМ
ТЕРБІНОРМ contains the active substance terbinafine hydrochloride. It is a medicine used to treat fungal skin infections. Terbinafine belongs to the allylamine group and has a broad spectrum of antifungal activity.
Composition
1 g of ТЕРБІНОРМ solution contains 10 mg of terbinafine hydrochloride. The product also contains excipients: propylene glycol, ethanol 96%, polyethylene glycol (macrogol) 1000 cetostearyl ether, citric acid monohydrate, and purified water.
Indications
ТЕРБІНОРМ is used for the treatment of interdigital tinea pedis ("athlete's foot") and tinea cruris ("jock itch") caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton and Epidermophyton floccosum.
Pharmacological properties
Terbinafine exerts a fungicidal effect against dermatophytes and molds. It specifically inhibits the early stage of sterol biosynthesis in the fungal cell membrane, which leads to ergosterol deficiency and intracellular accumulation of squalene, causing fungal cell death.
