About ТЕЛМІЛАКС ПЛЮС
ТЕЛМІЛАКС ПЛЮС is a combination drug containing telmisartan and hydrochlorothiazide.
Composition
Active ingredients: telmisartan — 80 mg, hydrochlorothiazide — 12.5 mg. Excipients: mannitol (E421), povidone, crospovidone, meglumine, sodium hydroxide, lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate type A, magnesium stearate, red iron oxide (E172).
Indications
The drug is used for arterial hypertension. As a fixed-dose combination, it is prescribed if monotherapy with telmisartan does not provide adequate blood pressure control.
Pharmacological properties
ТЕЛМІЛАКС ПЛЮС combines the angiotensin II receptor antagonist telmisartan and the thiazide diuretic hydrochlorothiazide. Their combination exerts an additive antihypertensive effect, lowering blood pressure more than each component alone.
At therapeutic doses, when administered once daily, the drug effectively and gradually lowers blood pressure. Telmisartan is a specific antagonist of the angiotensin II type AT1 receptor: it replaces angiotensin II at the binding sites of these receptors, does not exert any partial agonist activity, and selectively binds to AT1 receptors.
