About СТРЕПТОЦИД-ДАРНИЦЯ
СТРЕПТОЦИД-ДАРНИЦЯ contains sulfonamide - an active ingredient that belongs to short-acting sulfonamides.
Composition
One tablet contains 300 mg of sulfonamide. Auxiliary substances: potato starch, povidone, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide, and stearic acid.
Indications
The preparation is used for infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to it. These include infectious lesions of the skin and mucous membranes, in particular, wounds, ulcers, and bedsores, as well as enterocolitis, pyelitis, and cystitis.
Pharmacological properties
Sulfonamide disrupts the formation of folic, dihydrofolic, and other acids and compounds related to para-aminobenzoic acid in microorganisms. As its competitive antagonist, it disrupts the metabolic processes of microorganisms, thereby exerting a bacteriostatic effect.
Стрептоцид exhibits bacteriostatic activity against streptococci, meningococci, pneumococci, gonococci, E. coli, as well as the causative agents of toxoplasmosis and malaria. Its effectiveness is significantly inferior to modern antibiotics, and many strains of microorganisms, especially hospital ones, are resistant to the preparation. The activity of стрептоцид increases in an alkaline environment.
