About СОН-НАЙТ
СОН-НАЙТ contains doxylamine succinate, an ethanolamine-class H1-histamine receptor blocker with sedative and atropine-like effects.
Composition
One tablet contains 15.00 mg of doxylamine succinate. Excipients: lactose monohydrate; microcrystalline cellulose; magnesium stearate; croscarmellose sodium; hypromellose; macrogol 400; color suspension containing hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E 171), propylene glycol, and purified water.
Indications
The product is used for occasional insomnia in adults.
Pharmacological properties
Doxylamine succinate helps reduce the time required to fall asleep and also improves sleep duration and quality. The maximum plasma concentration of the substance is reached on average 2 hours after administration.
The average plasma elimination half-life of doxylamine succinate is about 10 hours. The substance is partially metabolized in the liver via demethylation and N-acetylation. In elderly individuals, as well as in patients with renal or hepatic impairment, the elimination half-life may be significantly increased.
