About СИНЕРПЕН

СИНЕРПЕН is a preparation that contains imipenem and cilastatin sodium. It is used to treat infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to the preparation in adults and children aged 1 year and older.

Composition

The preparation contains imipenem - 500 mg and cilastatin sodium - 500 mg. The weight ratio of these components is 1:1.

Indications

СИНЕРПЕН is indicated for the treatment of intra-abdominal infections; severe pneumonia, including hospital and ventilator-associated; intrauterine and postpartum infections; complicated infections of the urinary tract, skin and soft tissues; bone and joint infections, septicemia and endocarditis.

The preparation can be used in patients with neutropenia accompanied by fever, the probable cause of which is a bacterial infection. It is also used to treat bacteremia associated with or likely associated with these infections.

Pharmacological properties

СИНЕРПЕН contains imipenem - a representative of the class of β-lactam antibiotics of the thienamycin group, and cilastatin sodium - an enzyme inhibitor that blocks the metabolism of imipenem in the kidneys and significantly increases the concentration of unchanged imipenem in the urinary tract.

Imipenem is characterized by a wide range of bactericidal action. СИНЕРПЕН is indicated for the treatment of mixed infections caused by sensitive strains of aerobic and anaerobic gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including those resistant to cephalosporins.
