About SEDISTRES

SEDISTRES is a sedative and hypnotic drug containing dry extract of Passiflora and ethyl ester of alpha-bromoisovalerianic acid.

Composition

Dry extract of Passiflora - 300 mg. Ethyl ester of alpha-bromoisovalerianic acid - 10.2 mg.

Indications

The drug is used as a sedative in various types of neuroses, somatoform disorders, including vegetative dystonia, as well as in stress. It is used in complex therapy of hypertension, Meniere's disease, climacteric disorders, premenstrual syndrome, and migraine attacks.

SEDISTRES is indicated in psychologically complex situations for stabilizing the emotional background, reducing the level of anxiety, decreasing irritability, and maintaining psychological balance. The drug is also used as a hypnotic agent in sleep disorders, including insomnia of various origins.

Pharmacological properties

The sedative and hypnotic effects of SEDISTRES are due to the action of its components. The dry extract of Passiflora provides a sedative and hypnotic effect.

The ethyl ester of alpha-bromoisovalerianic acid has a reflexive sedative and spasmolytic effect. This is related to the decrease in reflex excitability of the central parts of the nervous system, enhancement of inhibitory processes in neurons of the cortex and subcortical structures of the brain, decrease in activity of central vasomotor centers, and direct spasmolytic effect on smooth muscles of blood vessels. The pharmacokinetics of the drug have not been studied.
