About Monoalergen

Monoalergen is a medicinal product used for the immunotherapy of respiratory allergies. It contains a natural allergen extract, specifically common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia). The product is available as a sublingual spray.

Composition

The composition of Monoalergen includes the active substance — a natural allergen extract, as well as excipients: glycerin, pineapple essence, sodium chloride, and water for injections. The concentration is expressed in therapeutic units (TU).

Indications

Monoalergen is indicated for the immunotherapy of respiratory allergies in patients with clinical symptoms and positive skin allergy tests (prick test) and/or a positive test for specific IgE to various allergens. Immunotherapy can be administered to adults and children aged 5 years and older.

Pharmacological properties

The mechanism of action of Monoalergen involves the induction of an immune reaction against allergens. The allergen extract is captured by dendritic cells present in the oral mucosa, which triggers a specific immune response. With this method of administration, significant absorption of the medicinal product is not expected.
