About ФЛОКСИМЕД

ФЛОКСИМЕД is a medicinal product containing ciprofloxacin as the active ingredient. The drug belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones and exhibits strong bactericidal activity.

Composition

Each 1 ml of the preparation contains 3 mg of ciprofloxacin. The auxiliary components include sodium acetate trihydrate, disodium edetate, mannitol (E421), benzalkonium chloride, and glacial acetic acid, as well as purified water.

Indications

The product is prescribed for the treatment of surface eye infections and their appendages, as well as keratitis caused by ciprofloxacin-sensitive bacteria. The preparation is also used for the treatment of acute external otitis and acute middle ear otitis, accompanied by drainage through the tympanostomy tube.

Pharmacological Properties

The mechanism of action of ciprofloxacin involves inhibition of bacterial DNA gyrase, which disrupts the synthesis of DNA in microorganisms. The preparation demonstrates high activity against a wide spectrum of gram-negative bacteria, particularly Pseudomonas aeruginosa, as well as effective against aerobic gram-positive microorganisms such as staphylococci and streptococci.
