About ЦЕФАЗОЛІН НАТРІЮ

ЦЕФАЗОЛІН НАТРІЮ is a semi-synthetic antibiotic belonging to the group of first-generation cephalosporins. The preparation is intended for parenteral administration.

Composition

Each vial of the medicinal product contains the active substance - cefazolin (in the form of sodium salt) in a dosage of 1000 mg.

Indications

The preparation is used to treat infectious diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to it. In particular, it is effective in infections of the respiratory tract, genitourinary system, skin and soft tissues, as well as bones and joints.

The agent is also used in sepsis, endocarditis, infections of the biliary tract, and for the prevention of infectious complications during surgical interventions.

Pharmacological properties

The mechanism of action of the preparation is based on the blockade of muropeptide synthesis in the bacterial cell wall by inhibiting the transpeptidase enzyme. This provides a pronounced bactericidal effect.

Cefazolin has a broad spectrum of action. It is active against many gram-positive (including Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Bacillus anthracis) and gram-negative microorganisms (including Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., Proteus mirabilis, Haemophilus influenzae, and others).
