УЛЬТРЕКС ФЛ is a medicinal product containing clindamycin in the form of phosphate. The product is available as suppositories for local application.

Composition

Each suppository contains 100 mg of clindamycin (in the form of phosphate). The auxiliary ingredient is a lipophilic base consisting of hard fat with the addition of monolaurin.

Indications

The drug is prescribed for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis. This condition was previously diagnosed as Gardnerella, hemophilic, nonspecific, Corynebacterium vaginitis, or anaerobic vaginitis.

Pharmacological Properties

Clindamycin belongs to the group of lincosamide antibiotics. It inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria by interacting with the 50S ribosomal subunit, resulting in a bacteriostatic effect. Although clindamycin phosphate is inactive in vitro, it is rapidly converted into an active form in the organism.

The effectiveness of the drug depends on the time during which the concentration of the active substance exceeds the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) for a specific pathogen. Resistance to the antibiotic usually develops through modification of the target ribosomal site, which occurs as a result of mutations or chemical changes in RNA.
