About ТОПРАЗ

ТОПРАЗ is a medicinal product in the form of gastro-resistant tablets, the active ingredient of which is sodium pantoprazole sesquihydrate. The preparation belongs to the group of proton pump inhibitors and is intended to reduce the level of acidity in the stomach.

Composition

Each tablet contains 40 mg of pantoprazole. The auxiliary components include mannitol, crospovidone, anhydrous sodium carbonate, hydroxypropylcellulose, calcium stearate, hypromellose, yellow iron oxide, methacrylic acid copolymer dispersion, and triethyl citrate.

Indications

The preparation is used for adults and children from 12 years old with reflux esophagitis. For adult patients, ТОПРАЗ is prescribed for the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, as well as for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with antibiotics. The agent is also used for Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and other conditions accompanied by hypersecretion of gastric juice.

Pharmacological properties

Pantoprazole blocks the H+-K+-ATPase enzyme in parietal cells, which stops the final stage of hydrochloric acid production. The action of the preparation is dose-dependent and extends to both basal and stimulated secretion. In most patients, relief of symptoms is observed within two weeks of treatment. The decrease in acidity leads to a reversible increase in gastrin levels in the body.
