About СОЛУ-КОРТЕФ

СОЛУ-КОРТЕФ is a medicinal product containing 100 mg of hydrocortisone. The drug belongs to the corticosteroid group and is intended for cases where a rapid and intensive therapeutic effect is required.

Composition

The active substance of the drug is hydrocortisone in the form of hydrocortisone sodium succinate (100 mg per vial). Excipients include sodium dihydrogen phosphate monohydrate and anhydrous disodium hydrogen phosphate.

Indications

The drug is used for endocrine disorders, in particular for primary or secondary adrenocortical insufficiency, acute insufficiency, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, non-suppurative thyroiditis, and hypercalcemia caused by malignant neoplasms. The product is also used in the preoperative period or in cases of severe trauma in patients with impaired adrenal function, as well as in shock states that do not respond to standard therapy.

As an adjunctive therapy in rheumatic diseases, СОЛУ-КОРТЕФ is prescribed for short-term administration during exacerbations. Such conditions include acute gouty arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (including juvenile), ankylosing spondylitis, bursitis, tenosynovitis, epicondylitis, synovitis in osteoarthritis, and post-traumatic osteoarthritis. The drug is also used during exacerbations of collagenoses.

Pharmacological properties

Hydrocortisone is an adrenal steroid hormone with anti-inflammatory action and salt-retaining properties. Hydrocortisone sodium succinate has high water solubility, which makes it possible to administer high doses of the drug intravenously in a small volume of solvent to rapidly achieve a therapeutic effect.
