About СИЛІБОР ФОРТЕ
СИЛІБОР ФОРТЕ is a hepatoprotective medicinal product that contains silymarin. This active substance is extracted from the fruits of the milk thistle and provides a protective effect on the liver.
Composition
Each tablet contains dry extract of milk thistle (22–27:1), which corresponds to 35 mg of silymarin. Auxiliary components include potato starch, sodium starch glycolate, calcium stearate, lactose monohydrate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide, and yellow dye FCF.
Indications
The preparation is used for toxic liver damage. It is also intended for maintenance therapy in patients suffering from cirrhosis or chronic inflammatory liver diseases.
Pharmacological properties
Silymarin consists of four isomers of flavonolignans: silybin, isosilybin, silydianin, and silychristin. The preparation exhibits antitoxic action, preventing the penetration of toxins into liver cells and stabilizing hepatocyte membranes.
An antioxidant effect is achieved through the interaction of silybin with free radicals, converting them into less harmful compounds. This stops the process of lipid peroxidation and prevents further destruction of liver cells.
