СІКАПРОТЕКТ is an ophthalmic product in the form of drops that combines the action of vitamin B5 and a moisturizing component. The preparation acts effectively as an artificial tear, helping to eliminate discomfort associated with "dry eye" syndrome.

Composition

Each milliliter of the solution contains 30 mg of dexpanthenol and 14 mg of polyvinyl alcohol as the main active ingredients. The excipients include benzalkonium chloride, potassium hydrogen phosphate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, and water for injections.

Indications

The preparation is intended for the symptomatic treatment of dryness of the conjunctiva and cornea caused by insufficient tear secretion. This condition may be caused by systemic or local diseases, as well as the inability to fully close the eyelids. In addition, the drops are used to moisturize the eyes while wearing rigid contact lenses.

Pharmacological properties

Dexpanthenol is a precursor of pantothenic acid, which is necessary for the formation of coenzyme A — a key element of tissue metabolism. Its topical application promotes faster healing by accelerating re-epithelialization and granulation processes. Due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-pruritic properties, dexpanthenol effectively restores the epithelium, while polyvinyl alcohol provides the necessary hydration.
