About Darfen Ultracap 200
Darfen Ultracap 200 is a medicine containing 200 mg of ibuprofen. It is intended to relieve pain and reduce fever and helps manage symptoms associated with inflammation.
Composition
Active substance: ibuprofen 200 mg. Excipients include polyethylene glycol 600, polysorbate 80, potassium hydroxide, butylated hydroxytoluene and purified water. The capsule shell is made of gelatin, partially dehydrated liquid sorbitol, purified water, Brilliant Blue FCF and quinoline yellow.
Indications
The medicine is indicated for headache, toothache and periodic menstrual pain. It is also used for fever and muscle pain associated with colds.
Pharmacological properties
Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits prostaglandin synthesis, which mediates pain and inflammation. It has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activity. Ibuprofen also reversibly inhibits platelet aggregation, which may affect the action of acetylsalicylic acid when used concomitantly.
