About CETIRIZIN-ASTRAFARM

CETIRIZIN-ASTRAFARM contains the active substance cetirizine. The drug is used for the relief of symptoms of allergic diseases. Cetirizine is a potent selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonist.

Composition

One tablet of CETIRIZIN-ASTRAFARM contains cetirizine dihydrochloride in the form of 100% active substance 10 mg. The drug also contains auxiliary substances: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, crospovidone, colloidal silicon dioxide, and coating "Selécoat™".

Indications

CETIRIZIN-ASTRAFARM is indicated for adults and children aged 6 years and older for the relief of nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, as well as for the relief of symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria.

Pharmacological properties

Cetirizine exerts an antiallergic effect by inhibiting the late phase of cell recruitment in the inflammatory process, particularly eosinophils, in the skin and conjunctiva of individuals to whom an antigen has been introduced. In addition, the drug inhibits the influx of eosinophils into bronchoalveolar fluid during the late phase of bronchial constriction caused by inhalation of allergens in patients with bronchial asthma.
