About CETIRIZIN
CETIRIZIN is a medicinal product intended for alleviating nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children over 6 years old.
Composition
Active substance: cetirizine dihydrochloride; 1 tablet contains 10 mg of cetirizine dihydrochloride.
Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, colloidal silicon dioxide anhydrous, magnesium stearate.
Coating: hypromellose (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose), titanium dioxide (E 171), polyethylene glycol (macrogol) 6000, propylene glycol (1,2-propanediol).
Indications
The medicinal product is indicated for alleviating nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children over 6 years old.
Pharmacological properties
Cetirizine is a potent selective antagonist of peripheral H1-receptors. It exerts an antiallergic effect by inhibiting the late phase of cell recruitment in inflammation, especially eosinophils, in the skin and conjunctiva of individuals to whom an antigen has been administered.
Cetirizine also inhibits the late phase of the reaction caused by inhaling allergens in patients with bronchial asthma.
