About Анальгін

Анальгін is an analgesic, antipyretic, and antispasmodic agent used to treat pain of varying intensity and localization.

Composition

The active ingredient of Анальгін is metamizole sodium. The preparation also contains excipients: anhydrous sodium sulfite, sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate dihydrate, diluted hydrochloric acid, and water for injections.

Indications

Анальгін is used to treat mild to moderate pain of various origins and localization, including headache, toothache, burns, postoperative pain, dysmenorrhea, arthralgia, neuralgia, radiculitis, and myositis.

The preparation is also used to treat hyperthermic syndrome and febrile conditions that occur during influenza, acute respiratory infections, and other infections.

Pharmacological properties

The mechanism of action of Анальгін is due to the inhibition of cyclooxygenase, which leads to a decrease in the synthesis of prostaglandins that cause pain, fever, and increased tissue permeability.

The preparation also disrupts the conduction of pain extra- and proprioceptive impulses and increases the excitation threshold of thalamic pain sensitivity centers.
