About Dupixent
Dupixent is a medicine available as pre-filled pens or syringes containing dupilumab in a solution for injection under the skin.
What it is used for
Dupixent is used to treat atopic dermatitis, some types of asthma, COPD, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis, prurigo nodularis, eosinophilic oesophagitis and chronic spontaneous urticaria.
How it is used
Dupixent should be taken every week, every other week or every 4 weeks depending on the patient’s age and weight, and the condition being treated. Depending on the dose, the medicine is given either as 1 or 2 injections at 2 different sites.
How it works
The active substance in Dupixent, dupilumab, is a monoclonal antibody designed to block receptors for interleukin 4 and interleukin 13. By blocking the receptors, dupilumab prevents these proteins from working and relieves disease symptoms.
