СТОМАТО-ГЕЛЬ ЗДОРОВ'Я is a combined antimicrobial agent intended for local treatment and prevention of infectious-inflammatory processes in the oral cavity. The preparation combines the action of two antibacterial components, providing a comprehensive therapeutic effect.

Composition

1 gram of gel contains 10 mg of metronidazole (in the form of benzoate) and 0.5 mg of chlorhexidine digluconate. Auxiliary substances include carbomer, propylene glycol, menthol, sodium saccharin, disodium edetate, sodium hydroxide, and purified water.

Indications

The gel is used for infectious-inflammatory diseases of the periodontal tissues and oral mucosa. In particular, it is effective for acute and chronic gingivitis (catarrhal, hypertrophic, ulcerative-necrotic), as well as for generalized periodontitis in the acute or chronic phase.

The preparation is also indicated for inflammation of the socket after tooth extraction (alveolitis) and mucosal injuries caused by wearing dental prostheses. The agent is used for the prevention of exacerbations of chronic forms of gingivitis and periodontitis.

Pharmacological Properties

The effectiveness of the preparation is due to the synergy of metronidazole and chlorhexidine. Metronidazole is a derivative of nitroimidazole, which exhibits pronounced antiprotozoal and antibacterial activity against anaerobic bacteria that provoke periodontal diseases.

Chlorhexidine acts as an antiseptic with bactericidal action. It is active against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, as well as affecting fungi, lipophilic viruses, and dermatophytes.
