- Diagnosis and treatment of NSCLC with EGFR exon 20 T790M mutation, as detected by an FDA-approved test, in patients whose tumors progressed on or after EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy.
Active Ingredient & Action
Afatinib (Afatinib Dimaleate) works by inhibiting the tyrosine kinase activity of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and other related kinases, thereby blocking the signal transduction pathways that lead to cell proliferation and survival. This results in the inhibition of tumor growth and the induction of apoptosis in cancer cells.
