Active Ingredient & Action
Axitinib, the active ingredient in INLYTA, works by selectively inhibiting the activity of multiple receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), including vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFRs), platelet-derived growth factor receptors (PDGFRs), and other kinases involved in tumor growth and angiogenesis.
Important Notes
INLYTA is available in 1 mg and 5 mg tablets. It is recommended to take INLYTA orally once daily with or without food. Patients should be monitored for hypertension, proteinuria, and liver function abnormalities. INLYTA may cause serious side effects, including hypertension, bleeding, and liver damage. Patients should be advised to report any unusual symptoms or side effects to their healthcare provider.
